GPOY because central auditory processing disorder. Subtitles make the world a little easier to understand for me.
Sometimes I also have to turn them on in a movie when the characters have accents too sadfkjhlskd
You don’t need a physical disability/disorder in order for this to be a good idea.
WAY too many games have their voice acting drowned out by SFX or BGM at critical junctures or can be hard to make out on quieter TVs (You know, when you’re playing in the middle of the night).
Why’d I bother reblogging this?
Because it drives me nuts
yes this too
(and technically CAPD is a neurological problem and not a physical one; my hearing is actually really good, it’s just processing spoken language that gives me problems)
I do this because english is not my first language .. and yeah, accents and sound effects = I might not understand everything

I always turn it on for movies or musicals :/
I have trouble hearing certain pitches, tones, and frequencies while other ones are way too loud for me for some weird...
The only game I’m doing this for lately is Skyrim, because you cannot hear shit...people...
YES definitely with Mass Effect. Also it helps immensely when you’re deaf in one ear, ahhhhh
Sounds about right.
